53. Got To Grenada

For the first trip of the year, we managed to take a quick weekend escape to the island of Grenada. The Caribbean came calling. Grenada had great weather. It must be all the greenery.

We enjoyed yummy barracuda for lunch at Grazie Italian Trattoria, Royalton Grenada. Grand Anse beach was beautiful accompanied by a cool breeze against the beaming sun. Still it was a lovely for a stroll in the sand. On the second day, we slept in. Only to wake from the smell of saltwater and hear the crashing waves. This followed a lovely lunch at Grenadian Grill. Delicious lobster fritters and grilled lobster with vegetables. The staff were wonderful too. Also we tried cinnamon ice cream for the first time. It was a bit different yet enjoyable. It was a pleasure to view the longest pool in the Caribbean. The Lime area is lush. So is Silversands Resort. Later on, we came across amazing art pieces. There’s something about admiring the creativity.

Found it weird that most tourist attractions were closed on Saturday but we made the most of it. After another dip in the sea, we visited the West Indies Brewery. It’s a place with a lot going on. If you enjoy a lively atmosphere, this place is for you. Afterwards, we dined at Rhodes Restaurant. The amuse-bouche was interesting. My husband had the grouper with cream. I loved the crab linguine. The nutmeg icecream was a delightful surprise. From arrival to departure, it was a good time. Many thanks to George, Michaela and all of the Calabash Grenada hotel team.
