California Love

Los Angeles is the must visit city in California. Santa Monica Pier appealed most to me as it looks majestic.

Known as the most expensive two mile block, Rodeo Drive is worth walking by. Take in the luxury fashion palm street lined look. It’s a special moment. Adventure beckons at Universal Studios Hollywood as it has tons of studio film sets in the theme park to keep you amused. This is the center of the entertainment world.

For lunch, The Water Grill is lovely. In downtown LA, this is the sensational seafood spot. I’d recommend the cool cocktails, crispy calamari, lump crab cake, wild octopus or raw bar, sushi rolls, crafty crustaceans and fish dishes. You will leave satisfied.

Located on Museum Row, LACMA is love. What I admired most was that different types of identities are represented as exhibitions show Asian calligraphy, Zheng Chongbin, African Adornment, Black Diaspora and Mesoamerican Art. Going up a notch, the Petersen Automotive is amazing. There’s a large collection of automobile history and excellent educational events.

As the evening approaches, the bars to visit are Accomplice, Melrose Umbrella Co, The Normandie Club and Thunderbolt. For dinner, Providence is promising. The Chef’s tasting menu features oysters, scallops, cod, monkfish and delightful desserts including coconut, hibiscus, raspberry and house made Hawaiian chocolate with kinako ice cream. Yum!
