Albuquerque has a few fun nicknames: The Duke City, ABQ, The 505, Burque and The Q. It would have to as the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Ride is a main attraction. Rainbow Ryders and World Balloon are great hour long sunrise or sunset rides over the Rio Grande. They’ve been in business for ages which equates to excitement, reputation and safety.
A hip down to earth restaurant named Frontier offers Southwestern meals for lunch. It’s been around since 1971. It doesn’t accept reservations so walk into for a traditional experience. There are burritos, tacos, sandwiches and platters. There’s a cool art gallery with local and national artists. The pieces possess a Western vibe.
As an afternoon delight, the Albuquerque Museum is all about the art, history and people. The culture of the Southwest is right in the heart of Old Town. Also I discovered a walk in only best new craft bar, Happy Accidents. There are about 35 cocktails, food stuff and dessert.
Then Farm & Table is a lovely local place. The concept came from a deep honour and respect for the land. The restaurant values local food, people, land and water. The menu consists of seasonal items, salads, croquettes, fish, meats and desserts such as a chocolate trilogy, citrus rice pudding and cherry clafoutis.
