7. Merci Montréal

Once in awhile, it’s nice to visit a new place without any plans. Delta helped me. Upon arrival, I took the 747E autobus from Pierre Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to the Courtyard by Marriott Montreal Downtown. It costs 10 Canadian dollars. My home for three days was in a good central location.

The morning began like any other where I decided I should probably eat breakfast ~ EAT être avec toi.

Soon after, I walked along the entire René-Lévesque Boulevard. Beginning by Canadian Centre for Architecture, I was amazed at what’s possible in this world. Then there was a small cute church to my left. Along the way, I spotted an opportunity for depth of field. Following that, the historic Notre-Dame Basilica appeared. And after out of nowhere, the Olympic Torch was there too!

Lunch was a great moment to try authentic poutine and check out the Vieux-Montréal area with my friend.

Next it was my favourite time of day, visiting the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal <3

Dinner was close by at Bonaparte Restaurant. Their savory seafood menu is amazing. I highly recommend the shrimp and scallops entree. Then for drinks, Notkins was a lively bistro bar with old school tunes to get anyone moving. Soon enough, it was time to call it a night.

Then the time came for the inevitable as the concierge brought my carry-on. A 40 minute bus ride to the airport. Taking in all of the art, architecture and beauty left to see, I smiled at the Montréal cityscape. In all, it was a great weekend. A bientôt, bisous!
