At present, there have been over 170 cases but no deaths reported in Dominica during the covid-19 pandemic.

Spectacular sights are all around in Dominica. A tropical rainforest is your first invitation. Diving and snorkeling are considered cool. With some of the best flora and fauna, there are amazing parks with hot springs. If eager for more, there’s a chance to hike high up in the clouds through a forest. While there, why not try new culinary experiences as well.

The bubbling beauty of volcanic springs can be seen at Champagne Reef. This is where the divers and snorkelers go for fun. Marine animals such as eels, frogfish, hawksbill turtles, parrotfish, rays, seahorses and sea snakes cling to colourful coral and sponges that span the area along with the lovely water lilies. Toucari also keeps it real with fishing opportunites great for families.

Then there’s a wonder world of waterfalls such as Emerald Pool, the Middleham Falls, Titou George and Trafaglar Falls. For the national park scene, Morne Trois Pitons National Park, Cabrits National Park and Morne Diablotin National Park are the ones to visit.

The national dish of Dominica is La Bandera which consists of rice, beans and meat. Other popular foods includes bits from land and sea. Manicou/agouti is smoked or stewed opossum. Callaloo soup mainly involves vegetables. Chatou water is octopus soup. Sancocho has a variety of meats like pork, chicken and beef. Codfish sandwich is a fish fillet with orange and ginger mayonnaise. To top it off, try sorrel punch, a tangy spice infused alcoholic beverage.

Dare to escape this summer, this island will definitely be a memorable experience.
