46. All Antigua

Located in the middle of the Leeward Islands, Antigua is about 14 miles long consisting of 108 square miles. The island maintains a cool climate with temperatures around 21°C / 70°F. The sun shines along with warm wonderful winds and low humidity.

The coastline has huge harbours and regal reefs. As the yachting season starts in December, there is a massive maritime event, Sailing Week hosted each year. Even more, a reason to explore endless beaches. Water activities such as kiteboarding, kite surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and sport fishing are popular.

Taking on a bit more adventure, visitors can zip line through the rainforest, get hype for helicopter rides or simply learn how to sail. On the island, significant sanctuaries featuring birds, snakes, and turtles often catch the eye. Also, remember not to miss the highest point Mount Obama which reaches 402 meters.

Recently, Antigua was presented with UNESCO World Heritage Site status for the Nelson’s Dockyard and National Park. There’s an amazing spot for panoramic views of the English Harbour called Shirley Heights Lookout.

For dining, wonderful waterfront cafes and restaurants will lure you in. The Caribbean cuisine is superb. Then there are numerous alternatives if necessary ranging from Chinese to German to Italian dishes throughout the island.
