Braving Boston

Massachusetts has many historical cities to visit but Boston is my favourite, slightly bias because of my fiancé.

Upon arrival, the first stop should be the neighbourhood, North End. There are are loads of beautiful buildings and cute cafes. Then Faneuil Hall Marketplace which was established int he 18th century is situated by a wonderful waterfront. The Boston Harbour has historical vibes that will transcend you to another time.

The New England Aquarium is a sight to see. The premier attraction displays aquatic animals spanning from California to Africa. This includes lionfish, octopus, turtles, sharks, penguins, seals and more. It takes you right back to childhood.

The Museum of Fine Arts is amazing as well. The exhibitions on view are inspirational. Take time to learn about influential artists from Japan, America, France, Greece, The Netherlands, Egypt and beyond. Look at it as a chance to travel.

For lunch, there are several options along Newbury Street. In particular, there’s a rooftop restaurant, Contessa located in The Newbury hotel. The menu offers antipasti, pizza, inslatas, primi, secondi and contorni. It gives you the opportunity to brush up on your Italian through cuisine while enjoying a meal in a lovely atmosphere.

I’ve been told it’s good to go for a walk after eating. Boston Common is the perfect place to be. It’s one of the oldest parks in the country. The greenspace lures you in as you disappear into nature for a moment. There are also significant military statues if you’re into history.

I’m sure at some point, you’ll find Fenway Park. The baseball games are exciting accompanied by the smell of hotdogs and popcorn. For more sports, the TD Garden hosts the Boston Bruins for hockey and Boston Celtics in basketball. Ticket prices vary throughout the year and depending if teams reach the playoffs.

The evening treat is to check out the Sam Adams Brewery. It’s for the love of beer! Tours are given where you can learn about beer ingredients, the process in which the beer is made and of course have a taste. Cheers!
